EDIT INTERVIEW:BARCELONA WITH THE LEDGE SKATESHOP…

Regular content contributor Forde Brookfield recently travelled to Barcelona with Eric Thomas and Mike Simons who were representing Leicester skate shop The Ledge in the My DC Crew competition. Joe Marks and Timmy Garbett were also on the trip representing Slugger. A handful of shops are invited to the Embassy to shoot with DC filmers and each section is posted on the DC Embassy site where a voting poll will decide which team has the best edit. Forde has made an edit of the trip so we spoke with him about it…

So how was the trip over?

It's the first time I'd flown and I'd been to the toilet 5 fucking times before I was even at the airport haha. As soon as we started boarding, I had to run toilet again! Never been so nervous. The actual flight itself was amazing, I didn't think I'd enjoy it but it was rad. The flight back was rad, until the last 30 minutes or so. Turbulence was horrible. I think it was about 85mph wind and it felt like it was smashing the plane from side to side. Mike was loving it apparently, says he wanted more turbulence haha. Joe Marks was terrified, but I won't go too much into it 'cause he'll beat my ass hahaha….Joe was shitting it hard.

I'm weird like that turbulence is amazing fun..

Haha you're mental! I was nervous but I wasn't screaming or anything. Couldn't control it if it was crashing so I'm not gonna freak out too much about it haha. All these girls where screaming and I think one was crying, not even exaggerating, they where shitting it. When we landed, all I and Eric seen was mud, we thought was was landing on a farm haha. That plane hit the floor so hard, surprised the wheels didn't snap or anything. The landing was fucking shit hahaha.

So this vid is you skating barca outside of the embassy?

This video is from the day after we skated the Embassy. I couldn't film in the Embassy or anything. We went Forum, took the p

iss walking to it. We stayed right next to Paral-lel but wanted to go a bit further out.

Best and worst part of the trip?

Best thing about it was the whole thing. I think the best was seeing the spots that you've seen in videos for years and actually seeing how big they are in real life. Makes you respect what tricks have been done more when you see the size of

the spot. Was rad just skating around with the lads and getting out there, filming and making a fun edit of it. Was rad getting 1 euro beers off the street from shady street salesmen, haha. DC Embassy was rad as well. The park is unreal, could live there.

Worst thing was Timmy Garbage having a shit in his locker at 4AM whilst he was smashed out of his face. He lost his locker key and they charged him 10 euros for a replacement. So for a 'revenge' type of thing, he took the blackest shit in his locker and let it simmer in there for a bit before he picked it up and threw it out of a window. You know every bit of Timmy G footage you see? he's always taking a shit? Yeah, he did it in a locker. Hahahaha, I fucking love Timmy! RATZ!!!!

The whole trip was rad, I'm so grateful to have gone out there and witnessed it. I plan to go back out there in 2/3 months for longer. Barcalife.

A massive thanks to the big boss Tim Hunt at The Ledge Skate Shop for setting it all up and paying for me to go. Thanks to Paul Cartwright and Raz Wright from the Ledge as well.

A big thanks to Leo Sharp, Edu Muñoz, Winkle, Adrian Morales and the rest of the crew at the DC Embassy. They where super humble and the nicest guys! Final thanks to Joe Marks, Eric Thomas, Mike Simons and Timmy Garbett for killin' it and making the trip fun!

And thank you for this interview Mike!
